Sally

Every day after school I would put on the song Mustang Sally. The minute the needle hit the groove off I’d go dancing wildly about the living room. I loved this song and today I imagine Sally wearing this necklace, with its grey tassels bouncing and the carved onyx beckoning all manners of transformation that only Sally could foretell. The centerpiece is bordered by red glass beads I picked up at that wonderful bead shop off Union Square in Manhattan. Hematite beads, offer energy for heighten self-esteem and are offset by artisan black glass beads. In my child’s mind Sally was free and nomadic. I didn’t know where she was riding off to. I just knew I wanted to go with her. Wear your Ride Sally Ride necklace the next time you set off or simply want to feel free while staying local.
